Luca Mainardi received the Master degree in Electrical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano (1990) and the PhD degree in Bioengineering in 1996 defending a thesis on time-variant multivariate models of cardiovascular control. He joint the Politecnico di Milano in 2001 and he is actually in the Faculty staff of the Dipartimento di Bioingegneria as Associate Professor. His teaching activities are in the field of Biomedical Signal Processing (Lab course, Master degree) and Bioelectricity and Biolectromagnetism (Bachelor degree). He is among the Lecturers of the PhD course on Advanced Processing of Biomedical Signals and Data. He is Promoter of Erasmus exchange of the Dept. of Bioengineering towards the University of Rennes (France) and Saragoza (Spain). He is the responsible of the Biomedical Signal Processing Laboratory of the Department of Bioengineering and he is Member of the Scientific Board of the Laboratory of Advanced Radiological Analysis (LARA) at the National Cancer Institute of Milano. He is author of more than 70 peer reviewed international papers in the field of biomedical signal and image processing and hundred of conference papers on these topics. Member of the Board of GNB in the years 2005-2008, he is Chair of the IMIA WG7 on ‘Biomedical Pattern Recognition’ for the period 2010-2013.

Riccardo Barbieri received the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, Rome, Italy, in 1992, and the Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University, Boston, MA, in 1998. He is Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering at the Politecnico di Milano. He is also affiliated with the Massachusetts General Hospital, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering at Harvard University in Boston. His broad research interests are in the development of signal processing algorithms for the analysis of biological systems. He is currently focusing his studies on computational modeling of neural information encoding, and on application of nonlinear and multivariate statistical models to characterize heart rate variability and cardiovascular control dynamics. He is author of more than 100 peer-reviewed publications in these fields since 1994. Prof. Barbieri is a Member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the European Society of Hypertension, the Society for Neuroscience, and Senior Member of IEEE and the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society.

Montin Eros è nato a Gallarate il 20/09/1981. Dopo un master (Livello QEQ 5) per addetto commerciale alla gestione della logistica intermodale delle merci e delle persone presso SDA Bocconi Milano ottenuto nell’ottobre 2011 con votazione di 99/100, ha conseguito la laurea magistrale in ingegneria Biomedica presso il Politecnico di Milano il 20 Aprile 2009, votazione 107/110 con una tesi sperimentale dal titolo “Exploring cortical attentional system by using fMRI during a continuous performance test”.
Nel marzo del 2015 ha conseguito il Dottorato di ricerca in Bioingegneria con merito presso la Scuola di dottorato del Politecnico di Milano (Milano, Italia) con una tesi dal titolo “A novel image registration strategy for oncological pediatric brain images fusion”.
Attualmente è assegnista di ricerca presso il dipartimento di elettronica, Informazione e Bioingegneria nell’ambito del programma di ricerca denominato: “Metodi innovativi di elaborazione di immagini per la caratterizzazione di zone cutanee in presenza di lesioni come ausilio per la diagnosi di melanomi”.
I suoi interessi sono correlati allo sviluppo ed utilizzo di tecniche di registrazione segmentazione e calcolo di parametri funzionali su immagini biomediche tra le quali: risonanza magnetica (morfologica e funzionale), tomografia computerizzata, microcopia confocale e tomografia di coerenza ottica.

Valentina D.A. Corino received the Laurea degree cum laude in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano, Italy, in 2004. In 2008, she received the Doctorate degree (PhD) in Bioengineering defending the thesis “Analysis of Endocardial and Surface Recordings during Atrial Fibrillation”. From 2008 to 2012 she was a post-doc at the Department of Biomedical Engineering of the Politecnico di Milano, Italy. Since 2012 she has been assistant professor at Politecnico di Milano, Italy. Her research activity lies in the field of biomedical signal processing with main interests in signals of cardiovascular origin, especially regarding supraventricular arrhythmias. She collaborates with the Department of Electroscience and the Department of Cardiology, Lund Institute of Technology, Sweden; the Dipartimento di Scienze Cliniche e di Comunità, Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy; Department of Electrocardiology, Medical University of Lodz, Poland; Cardiology Division, University of Rochester, NY, USA; Dipartimento di Informatica, Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy. She is author of 25 peer reviewed papers on international journals, 31 conference papers and 3 book chapters in the field of cardiac signal processing. She is referee of international journals such as IEEE Transaction on Biomedical Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Information Technology in BioMedicine, Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing, Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, PLoS ONE, Computers & Electrical Engineering, Methods of Information in Medicine.
Iozzia Luca

Luca Iozzia è nato a Torino il 27/04/1989. In data 24/07/2014 ha conseguito la laurea in Ingegneria Biomedica presso il Politecnico di Milano. Da Ottobre 2014 ha iniziato il dottorato in Ingegneria Biomedica il cui progetto è incentrato nello sviluppo di un sistema “contactless” di acquisizione del ritmo cardiaco mediante registrazione video di volti di pazienti. I suoi interessi sono correlati allo studio della fibrillazione atriale (FA), e metodi di sviluppo non invasivi, tra cui studio intervalli R-R, di detezione e prevenzione della FA.
